|
|
The oldest acapella congregation in Louisiana, Seventh & Camp unofficially began with the preaching by Alexander Campbell in New Orleans in 1839. The congregation was legally chartered in 1845. Many congregations in south Louisiana have roots in Seventh & Camp. 1 Corinthians 3:6. The congregation meets at the southeast corner of the intersection of Seventh and Camp Streets, in the Garden District. From St. Charles Avenue (which has a convenient streetcar line) go four blocks south (toward the Mississippi River) on Seventh Street.
