Beyond the horizon of our immediate community there are billions
of souls lost in sin, error, and worldly pursuits, without God
and without hope in the world.
Our task of world evangelism must bring those lost souls into
our vision of soul saving.
As we position ourselves and bring these billions "beyond
the horizon" into focus, it challenges our resources. The
gospel is for every creature, in every place, in all the world.
This is a place for the serious minded, the dedicated and committed.
This demands the best within us.
Crieve Hall Church of Christ reaches out to the whole world as
limits of our time and assets permit. We emphasize building a
numerically and spiritually strong local congregation to support
going into areas "beyond the horizon."
Since 1966 Crieve Hall Church of Christ has placed great emphasis
on campaigns for Christ. This provides a way for many of our members
to become deeply involved in soul saving personally. A campaign
will involve 10 to 40 people. This provides tremendous opportunity
for personal spiritual growth and development, in addition to
bringing others to Christ.
These campaigns have taken groups of workers to Scotland, England,
West Africa, and in the United States from Connecticut to Louisiana,
and from Minnesota to Florida, thirty or more in all, in twelve
contiguous states, over a period of 30 years.
In these campaigns Paul M. Tucker usually does the preaching.
The planning of the details is done by elder Ray Frizzell and
deacon Mike Bates, skilled organizers and planners, with cooperation
of many others.
In recent years, our youth minister, Tim Frizzell, has taken groups
of 10 to 15 young people on trips to small congregations providing
personnel for teaching in Vacation Bible Schools, along with some
community service activities. The schedule includes two in Florida,
one in Southeastern Kentucky, and one in New Orleans.
This is infiltration of many of our own members in some of the
world population with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Crieve Hall sponsors 10 missionaries in West Africa, South Africa,
Australia, Finland, New Zealand, Minnesota, Florida, and Tennessee.
In addition, we provide partial support for 51 more missionaries
over the world, including Philippines, Europe, Greece, Australia,
England, France, Africa, Russia, Switzerland, Scotland, Hawaii,
India, New Zealand, and several contiguous states. Amount budgeted
in these programs is $593,767.00 for 1996. Our annual budget is
$1,357,200.00 total. We are moving "beyond the horizon"
to millions of lost souls - "into all the world."
Radio and TV programs are supported financially. Several programs
are carefully selected for biblical soundness, as well as for
coverage and effectiveness. These include Truth for the World,
Search, Old Landmarks, and World Christian Broadcasting
Co. This is utilization of modern equipment in efforts to
reach "beyond the horizons" with the word of God. The
power is in the word.
The whole mission of the whole church is to preach the whole gospel
to the whole world in each generation. By the enabling grace of
God, the Crieve Hall Church of Christ is involved in doing just
that to the best of our ability, time, and resources available.
As we reach "beyond the horizons" fondest dreams of
conquest for Christ become reality.
And Jesus came to them and spake unto them, saying, All authority
hath been given unto me in heaven and on earth. Go ye therefore,
and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the
name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit: teaching
them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo,
I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.
