No Convenient Season

By Louis Rushmore

There is no convenient season to be saved; there will never be a better time to be saved than now. There will never be a better time to begin a life of Christian service than now.

The apostle Paul stood as a prisoner before a Roman governor named Felix and preached the Gospel. "And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee" (Acts 24:25). Though Felix had several other opportunities to hear Paul explain the Gospel, it appears that Felix never found his "convenient season" to be saved.

Do not make the same mistake Felix made. Do not wait for a convenient season. Be saved now! Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and Savior (John 8:24); repent of your sins (Luke 13:3); profess your belief in Jesus (Romans 10:10); and be baptized for the remission of your sins (Acts 2:38). Contact the churches of Christ today for encouragement and help to make your life right with God.
