Frequently Asked Question

Question:
What age should a young person be baptized?

Answer:
The Bible teaches that little children are without sin and therefore acceptable to God as they are (See Matthew 19:14). As the child grows it comes to a time when it knows the difference between right and wrong. All mature, responsible people sin (See Rom. 3:23). Sin separates us from God and causes us to be lost. Baptism is for the purpose of washing away sins (See Acts 22:16). If a person is guilty of sin, he needs to believe (John 3:16), repent (Acts 17:30-31), and be baptized for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38). Each person must make this decision for himself.
