And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32

A creed is a statement of beliefs accepted by a church. For 300 years the Bible was the only creed - why is it not the same today?

2 Timothy 3:16-17 gives a list of four uses for the Bible. How are human creeds used? Are they not used the same way? Why follow a man's teachings? Why not stick to an infallible book? Let's get rid of all the man made creed books and use the Bible!

  • Isn't it interesting that creed books are revised every few years? They cannot know what will be taught 10 years from now.
  • Creeds cannot be defended. No man defends them based on them containing:
    • more than the Bible
    • less than the Bible
    • different teaching than the Bible
    • exactly what the Bible says
  • Those who use creeds are unable to defend the Bible. The Bible says it's complete. If the Bible is complete why is a creed needed?
  • Creeds are divisive. They are a wall that divides. They are used to exclude others.
