Jerry D. McDonald

"Jerry D. McDonald was born on March 26, 1954 to Thomas Harvey and Glennis McDonald in Lockney, TX. Two years after high school Jerry joined the U.S. Navy where he spent the next four years. He has served as a police officer (both full time and reserve) since 1993.

In 1980 Jerry began studies at the Brown Trail School of Preaching in Ft. Worth, TX and graduated in 1982. Jerry has preached in Texas, Missouri, Arkansas and Kansas. Jerrypresently preaches for the church in Waynesville, Missouri.

In 1983 Jerry married Andrea Lynn Boland in Bella Vista, Arkansas. They have one child, a boy named Thomas Hardeman, who is now 12 years old. Andrea is a high school Family And Consumer Science (Home Economics) teacher. Andrea recieved her B.S. in Education and Home Ec. in 1974 from the North Eastern Oklahoma University in Talequah, OK.

Jerry is the son of a gospel preacher (Thomas H. McDonald) and the grandson of a gospel preacher (Robert S. McDonald). Both men were debaters as well as preachers and Jerry followed in their footsteps and is the editor of Challenge (a quarterly debate journal). Jerry has debated subjects like the existence of God, the inspiration of the Bible, instrumental music, baptism for the remission of sins, anti-ism and the A.D. 70 doctrine.

Jerry and Michael P. Hughes (associate editor for Challenge) have known each other since 1990 when Jerry moved to Sullivan, MO from Oskaloosa, KS. Michael was preaching for the church in Cuba, MO at the time. Jerry and Michael have been close friends since their meeting."
